• Summer is over now and most of us, if not all, have returned from our holidays.  Perhaps, once more, some of us might have visited countries where clean and well looked after parks and streets have impressed us, without myriads of stray cats.  And then we are back to our reality here in Cyprus, back to an issue that has become cancerous.  Thousands of stray cats wandering our hostile streets, bearing more kittens 2 to 3 times a year and stressing us out about what will become of the new litter before we manage to deal with the previous one.

• You can see it for yourselves, poisoned, run over, sick, blind.  This is where we have to put an end to it as it is no longer financially or emotionally viable.  We have to get organized, join forces.  Stray cats are not a personal problem for each of us, it is a societal issue and only by acting together we can face it.  The solution is a one way street, neutering them! Especially those cats that are completely left alone in parks, cemeteries, deserted buildings and our neighborhoods.

• Our association was established with this sole purpose. No one is paid for doing this, no salaries or wages are given, we all are volunteers and the accounting office TOP RPO AUDIT & TAX LTD has also volunteered to prepare our financial statements and accounts free of charge, as they will be submitted annually to the General Auditor of the state, to the Veterinary Services of the state and the District Officer of Nicosia to ensure absolute transparency.

• Our income from donations will be used solely for neutering of cats. What we ask of you is a mere but precious for us €5 donation per month, a minimal amount which does not compare to what we constantly spend on food and medicine to keep our feline friends going. By joining our efforts we will be able to systematically and all year round, in an organized fashion, neuter cats wherever they have colonies or even isolated presence.  We will be able to negotiate better, discounted prices from private vets and we will no longer be giving our own individual battles. You can appreciate how this is a priority and only with your actual support will we be able to make a difference together with those people who are already contributing from their own financial means for this purpose, since the financial support of the project will be the driving force behind its success!
